Just found my 2nd 2017 P at my bus stop. On the ground. NYC.

Found a few my self here in Eastern NC.

 

Wow. I thought it would be more circulated by now! We need to ally with our comrades out west. Give them our P's for thier D's and S's!

 

That's a great idea! I use to trade bank rolls of quarters with someone from eBay. We started with the state quarters and then started the ATB quarters. It was working good for us both. She sold hers as sets and I kept mine. I then got a letter from a family member of the seller that she had passed away.

 

They are only putting the p mint mark for this year

 

So since this is the only year they're putting the P on it, does anyone know how this will affect the overall mint total? Will they be overproduced or will they be a little more rare like 2009?

 

I don't know for sure, but my guess is that the 2017 totals will be similar to 2016. The low mintage of 2009 was not planned, it was a result of the financial crisis that hit the economy that year. The feds ordered that minting stop for 2009 sometime in April of that year resulting in low mintage numbers for all US coins in 2009. Unless some similar economic event occurs this year, I wouldn't expect the 2017 mintage number to be that different than other recent years since the coins will continue to get minted for all of 2017 I would assume.

Same here on Long Island. Nothing so far in both Counties.

 

I'm in Central Fla. and I haven't seen any yet. I've asked at my banks but nothing so far.

 

Have not seen any yet, but when I do, I'll buy several NEW boxes just like I did back in 2009 with the four var P & D's.

 

I've asked as well with no luck. If I ask for a box I just take it. No matter what. The ladies are nice enough to get it for me so I don't complain. Some day I'll find a whole box!

 

Man if I could give you guys some of my pennies right now I just would lol. Got a box today and just opened it. Nothing but Shiny!!!! Reading 2017 all over. Should I even open them or just squirrel them away? It's only 25 bucks.
