    Hi guys,

I have this 2017 P Roosevelt Dime and would like to know what is happening with the Obverse Rim above Roosevelt's Head. There is a small copper piece of metal below the rim above Roosevelt's head. Can someone explain what this is?

Looks like it took a hit but could be something else.

It's a little finned rim. Not a cud. Not damage.

If you look closely you can see the rim took a hit and the metal was pushed down onto the surface of the coin. This left the copper on the rim exposed.

It's possible, but folded over finned rims look exactly like the op's coin. another thing after taking another look is it could be a struck through. I am not seeing damage.
