My great nephew selected my last nice die clash. But this puppy shows a clash by Frank’s eye and below the ear. And the usual locations
Sorry to confuse y’all. My grandma called him Frank back in the 1960’s when I first started collecting. A couple more pics closeup
Maybe you can explain to us how a clash becomes exposed on the raised areas of a coin. The devices are recessed into both die faces. So how does this happen? I agree with the clashed areas in the fields. Just not near Roosevelt's ear. I think that is something different.
Kinda hoped you guys could help me. Never had a Rosy clash like this. Don’t shoot me, I’m only the piano player. I find em, I post em
Here is a thought. It could be this but I am not sure at all. @Fred Weinberg @paddyman98 @JCro57 http://www.error-ref.com/tiny-circles-semicircles-and-spirals/ The area near the ear looks raised so it does not seem to be a squeeze job. To me it looks mint made. Can you get a clearer photo if the area in question?
These clashes on shiny dime with my cell camera are tough. The leaf on his nose is the only one I’ve ever seen
I took a look at a new dime and the area in question Neck/jawline is the lowest in relief of the bust. I am starting to think that an overly convex reverse die and the sufficient die pressure could leave this amount of detail. I am only guessing though. You could send it to Maddie clashes. I think this is one for an in hand look. http://www.maddieclashes.com/
Found a few minutes to view the Atypical clashes listings. Mine has many of the same markings as MANY of the listings. Thank you for the Maddie’s link. May send a couple to them.
