...and I do think there's someone that would be willing to pay a premium for it. It may not be a true fancy, but it does have a certain coolness that has some value. The bill looks in pretty good shape, and 7 7's is pretty dang cool. I don't collect, nor have much of an interest in serial numbers (or currency as a whole), but a few years ago I had 3 bills with non-fancy, but decent coolness factors, an sold them on the bay for a small premium. I honestly have no recollection of the numbers, but I do know I made a couple of bucks. I'd put this bill on the bay starting at $2, and let an auction run.
I think it would sell at a premium. The number one rule of selling anything is that it's worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Also another well known rule is that someone's junk is someone else's treasure. While those of you who would simply spend it, those who are willing to take a chance and list at auction on eBay will most likely come out several hundred percent in profit. There's no risk in starting it out at $3.00 with appropriate shipping. If it only receives one bid, you are up 200%+.
If it was all 7s I would pay a premium for it. But it isn't, so it's only worth 100 cents to me. Nothing more. But maybe someone else would pay a premium.
There is such a thing as liar's poker. A note such as this one would be valuable in such a circumstance.
