2017 Jefferson Nickle off center?

Hello,

Just wondering, I noticed the rim of the Nickle thinned out on the southwest part of the obverse side and reverse side of the coin, is this how they are usually made? Or is it an error? I set the focal plane of the lens as flat as I could on the Nickle and it looks pretty even all the way around.
Opinions would be welcome.

Hi , yes, this is an error but it's a very common error so it has no real value.
In fact, right now, I can't even remember the name of what this is called.

 

I will not give you an opinion but instead the correct fact.. It's called a Misaligned Die Strike.
Off-Center is incorrect. It's a slight MAD (mis aligned die strike) so nothing major.

The 5 Cent US Mint coin is nicknamed a nickel because that is what it is made of (mostly).

Actually not grammar but a typographical (spelling) error. Minor and auto spell correct always seems to miss those things!
