2017 dime - extra leaf

I found two of these.









Looks like it could be a die clash. If it is, it's kind of strange it's only in this area.

Yeah die clash of his chin. That's what it looks like.

 

Could be a slight clash.. A lot of Machine Doubling on your Dime.

 

There are other hints on top of the leaf's that say this is a die chip.
A clash wouldn't be raised from the surface of the coin.

 

I don't think it's raised. It's flat to the coins surface.

 

It doesn't appear to be raised.

 

I’m inclined to say clash as well.

 

Just look at the overlay provided by the OP..
Fits the spot in question.

 

I'm surprised that is the only area showing a clash.

 

The area is too remote to be a clash.

I don't see any evidence on the rest of the coin.
That is too strong to not show on either side of the leaf tips, not to mention leaf tips under Roosevelts chin.
But, that's only my two cents.​

 

Looks like the top of the leaf is a die break to me. Very similar to the die depression we were discussing in another post.

 

The done has a bad case of MD. As far as the extra leaf, no to that but it could be a small new Die break or a die clash as per your overlay.
