I’m new to the coin game. Don’t know much about valuable errors, but have been learning. I noticed that Ive been finding an abundance of dimes, decided the universe was trying to tell me something. So I started looking at my change and found this. Can someone please tell me more about my find??
Welcome to the neighborhood, @Kristen Nicole ! I believe that is called a "Railroad Rim" but a better close-up would help. It's bad enough that it is not in very good condition, but it sure doesn't help when you use that metal clip to hold it for the edge photo. Chris
if your dime was in pristine condition and had that edge, it could be something. But with the extensive damage all over it and the reverse edge flattened and pushed down, the edge issue is just the reverse rim pushed down making that extended edge. Which is just damage. ie, it was damaged outside, and after the coin was minted.
Welcome to Coin Talk , Keep on checking your coins you might someday come across something in nice condition . It is a great pass time but it will not make you rich . Pay little or no attention to You Tube Videos as most are bogus claims. Anyway welcome aboard . Keep the hunt going! Dillan
