I thought I seen this earlier? There is no such thing as a doubled die in the newer cents my friend, just die deterioration, and crappy zinc.

Ok, I see where you are going with liberty. However, there is a doubled master die in which the RTY is very slightly doubled, as in your case. As a result, this coin carries no extra premium due to its commonness. I've been dealing with modern doubled die varieties for awhile.

Some those images sure look like what I've been seeing around the internet being described as Doubled Die. I'm new at this though, so what do I know. Lol. Thanks you guys for the input.

Here we go again with the Zincoln issues. Most of us were looking for good things with Zincolns but mostly a big disappointment. Sorry but you have become one of many disappointed collectors. Thanks for the post.

Most people on the internet don't have a clue what a doubled die is. I see some md on the Y.

Simply put, a worn die on a zinc planchet.

Patently FALSE. They are doubled dies, and are categorized and listed at both Wexler and Variety Vista.

Regarding this coin, it is die deterioration/overused die.

I see no extra thickness or notching, which is the majority you will find on shield cents and is considered minor doubling with a very shallow premium...imo...Spark

Isn't that what this site is for? The one's "WHO DON'T HAVE A CLUE"? I posted to this site because someone told me it would be a good place to learn from those who know the trade. Thanks for "YOUR" expertise.

look for a shield cent from a good grading company that says doubled die.
