Yes Philadelphia... I found the first one here in NYC mid January (Jan 14th) https://www.cointalk.com/threads/cent-2017-p-mint-mark-in-nyc.289476/ I found 2 of them metal detecting a beach in NYC https://www.cointalk.com/threads/metal-detecting-april-2017-coney-island-nyc.295062/#post-2717996
just saw this in the other thread.... http://www.coinworld.com/news/us-co...added-to-lincoln-cent-for-first-time.all.html
I had one teller that asked me why I wanted the new cents and I told her because they had a P mint mark for the first time and she said that she didn't know that and would let me know if some came in. I can't believe what boxes have been selling for on ebay. 2017 P cent
It's hard to believe people are paying extra for them, but even harder to believe people are selling large, heavy boxes of cents for what amounts to maybe five bucks of profit after fees. I'm in an urban part of North Carolina, and we've been seeing them since February or early March, I think.
You had better check that link for sold listings, a $25 box is selling for more than double face value and shipping isn't that much for priority mail (up to 68lbs. a box).
It looks like from the auctions lately that the price is coming down as more are hitting the market, but back in Feb. a $25 box was bringing over a hundred bucks. 2017 P box auctions
Derp, I was thinking $50 a box. I've been making that kind of mistake a lot in the last week or so; good thing I haven't been buying. Wonder if I should make a trip to the local banks, then...
2 boxes sold today ($50 face) for $145, let's see, even with $15 shipping and 12% for ebay and paypal that comes to $112.60 minus $50 to buy the boxes and that leaves a profit of around $62.
I got my first 2017P cent today. I got it in a charity mailer from the east coast. Haven't seen one locally yet.
