I wait for my opinion of new designs to grow on me a little, not unlike a fungus. I originally hated the one Boys Town commem, but that huge expanse of open space has grown on me (talk about a "prime focal area"!). I always have liked the lion on the reverse of the Lions Club piece. And the one new ATB from 2017 is simply AWESOME in its depiction of running water, at least in the proof and enhanced uncirculated versions. The U.S. Mint's artistic infusion program can be seen as a "staff reduction protocol".
@V. Kurt Bellman Here you go Buddy here are some submission ideas of mine. These are all retreads I pulled from this web site so they should ZOOM by the selection committee. 1. Mythical Catagory: 2. Classical Design (Add liberty cap and a staff): 3. And my new favorite! The new moving picture coin! With your pull Kurt these babies are a shoe-in. Reed.
#2 is a fav of mine for sure. Classic nude bust, cap and staff. Now this is what I’m talking about! Reed
1) Excuse me, you must be "Kraken" up. 2) Why honor a prototypical Dallas Cowboys fan? 3) Yes, CoinTalk posters should be honored with a coin, so why not?
Go Kurt go push it through! You make this happen and I’ll get you a special “sitting” with the bust model!
I have SOME modicum of state pull, no federal pull at all. You need to write to Mnuchin, or Munchkin, or something. I'm pretty sure one of these guys is the Secretary of the Treasury. The other two are the Director Designate of the Mint, and the the Director of OMB.
I am creeping away from this slowly...... Why are you still here Kurt you should be pushing those designs through!
