2017 $1 Bill's - 2 back plate sizes

I noticed my Cleveland $1 has an extremely small back plate number -- as in type size -- compared to the past 20 years or so.

I poked around Ebay to look at other 2017s and found some locations are using the small typeface and other locals are using the larger typeface.

Is this an error? Or is it the new normal?

I think it's an error, because most notes are horizontal, but yours is vertical. I wonder if they print them that way to make it hard to read & irritate my neck & eyeballs?:smuggrin::D;)

The plate number size used at Ft. Worth is a different size than the number at DC.

Welcome to CT Christina. I hope you can take the humor some of us dish out and not be discouraged. You seem to already know about currency, so you have a leg up on many. Keep checking those bills.
