Just found this 2016P Roosevelt dime with die cracks from the rim to his head where they split up to 5 or 6 seperate cracks. From the research I did and looking at my notes, that looks like a shattered die crack. I hope that's correct.Thank you
Spikehead dime die breaks are common. But still I put them away when roll hunting. A couple rolls so far. Lol
Yes sir, me too. Savin all my die breaks, die chips and a handful of '69s with the missing initials, for a rainy day.
I was looking at shattered dies recently. I think they are so extreme looking that, although I do recognize that they can be seen as "related" (both die-related and one the possible precursor of the other), I wouldn't say a shattered die was 'close' to a slight interior die break. Maybe I am nit-picking here? Still. I like what you found!! I would also keep this coin. It's cool!
Yea I believe 1 of them does. I'll have to look again. That's a pretty new cool error. I check that on all my cents. Just like weighing them. One of the advantages of OCD! How many do you have Cointessa?
I'm really limited in space so this is what I did with my WheatieS. I know it's kinda gay. And I used the double sided tape you get with the plastic kits you put on your Windows in winter. It leaves no residue. Pretty cool.
@FooFighter ...look at the reverse of the coin first attached to your display board...check to see that, over time, the metal is not reacting to the mounting tape. It may not leave a residue, but it may cause environmental damage. Also, be sure to use white cotton gloves when mounting, to avoid leaving finger oil prints on the obverse. 2x2 flips are cheap and provide a minimum of protection. I advise you to take the time to do this for your coins...Spark
I gotcha Spark. Money is so right Right now has to actually turn in some of my pennies for Dr appt today. I've been checkin out those books tho. That's what I want for sure.
