This year's Congratulations Set was a hot item because of the mint mark exclusive to that set (and maybe another set later this year, right?

The 2016 CS was the usual proof eagle in a piece of cardboard.

It's cardboard that's so valuable, not plastic.

If I had a couple, I'd sell them in a New York second.

I can't see how it would. Once the box is opened from the mint they become ineligible for any additional designations.

It's supposed to appear again. They haven't really announced anything in a while though it seems.

wow, i'm getting offers ... one person low balling me ... HA!! I can be greedy too so I'm waiting for an offer of those that have already sold !!

at worse, I'll still own them of the demand just shrivels up immediately.

I agree with others that it's kind of silly to spend so much for a coin just because of its packaging (or former packaging).

I found out about this when I was watching Mike Mezack's farce (for entertainment purposes only, of course) and he rolled out ANACS PF70's for $2000. I almost choked when I saw that price. Definitely high quality entertainment, especially when he touts this coin with the Congratulations Set designation as "five times rarer than the 1995-W" (paraphrase).

OMG. Just sold 1x 2013 and 1x 2016 in OGP
    Profit is enormous.

I'll wait a couple more days before selling some more pyrite.

You're at a competitive disadvantage to HSN. You don't have the red oak presentation box!

No he has a huge advantage as he didn't bother wasting time with ANACS

Now I'm waiting for the prices to drop ... so I can buy them all back for what I bought them for at USMint prices.

on eBay For the 2016 Congrats .. From Aug 15 to Aug 20th the price quadrupled to around $1200
Then by Aug 27th up to $2k which has held through Sept 2.
I'm wondering if it will go up, stay put or stall and start dropping.

And the 2013 it doubled in price in 3 days from $145 to $300.
btw in April I bought a 2013 to fill in the year I was missing for $64 (nice fast profit for a coin).

    other year mintage:
    • 75,000 in 2017 from San Francisco Mint
    • 5,966 in 2016 from West Point
    • 7,895 in 2015 from West Point
    • 7,529 in 2014 from West Point
    • 18,347 in 2013 from West Point

Which is lunacy, because the 2016 Congratulations Set proof was minted in West Point, like all other proofs. The reason the 2017 went crazy was because the proof was minted in San Francisco. The only way to get a 2016 graded now (and when they came out originally) was to send the entire box in to the grading company, unopened from the mint. So you would get your box in the mail, put it in another box, and send it in to be graded.
