    I received it too.
I thought I may want one but after seeing the winged liberty, I don't think mint is doing justice to the design.
Not only that but a lot of people are buried in the winged libert gold dime.

So it looks like it will be $435 when released? Did I read that right?

I was so excited about these when they were first announced.. Then I saw the Mercury dime and it was a huge let down. I bought the Daniel Carr Centennial Set, a much better tribute if you ask me.

Why is the mint taking so long to decide what to do with the leftover gold dimes?

Of course it will depend on the gold price at time of release...

That is a good question...I've heard a number around 3800 pieces??

Final numbers were around 116k I believe which would leave about 9k. They had a lot of returns towards the end

I am not buying these coins/items, but I still think they look interesting. My coin purchases lately have been primarily for my type set 1892-2009 which includes commemoratives, and some of the bullion types.

Who are they going to sell them to? All the Internet and TV coin dealers have them in stock and still trying to sell them. And Ebay also is full of people trying to sell them still!

I don't know, the I think the image on the Mint's website is phenomenal!

Maybe Daniel Carr should take the dimes and overstrike them with FSB reverses...

We got full strikes on half dimes 160 years ago. We have much better technology now. We aren't making that many, we should be able to get full details like on the original coins.

As far as flipping goes, the Merc laid a big egg for a lot of sellers. Wonder how much interest they'll have in these. Does anyone else see 2 for 1 specials coming on TV?

I've heard a lot of disappointment over those coins. Why? They look pretty sweet to me...

No full bands, mushy appearing look, and many had finned rims. Complete failure from a design execution and quality control standpoint for modern gold standards

Ah, I understand now. Terrible, it's not meeting any standards and people are paying how much again?
Too bad... It was a damn cool concept.

I think they are holding the leftover gold dimes at the mint
until they figure out how best to scalp the public.

I believe they were 215 for a 1/10th ounce of gold, there was a pretty good premium on them from the mint. This one could come out better but I am assuming they are all going to be of similar quality until proven otherwise.
