2012 and 2008 are my favorites in that order. 15 was okay, 13 and 14 were pretty sad by comparison.

10k does seem to be a pretty aggressive mintage. Will be interesting to see if we get a first day sell out at that mintage or even close to a sell out.

Hey Jim - Last year they only released 4,000 and they sold out quickly. I think the 10,000 release will go almost as fast with this design. And, by-the-way, if you need to use a CA address, I'M VOLUNTEERING! Jack

 

2008 is definitely a nice one (both in proof and burnished). And the fact that the platinum coins change designs every year sets them apart from the gold and silver eagles.

 

Any more thoughts on this release? Looks like the price will be $1292 based on the platinum spot today.

10,000 is quite a few more than last year (4,000). I want them to succeed and it looks like there are already some pre-sales on eBay for promising numbers BUT that's a large jump YOY.

 

Looks like they're going to be $1350 and I'll be online tomorrow at noon to get one. Someone already has a bunch of 70's on ebay.

 

I looked at the price sheet and it stated that $950-$1050 was going to be a list of $1292. Am I looking at the wrong price schedule? I must be seeing the 2015 schedule.

42847XX here, got my "processing" email at 12:03. If they're truly sequential, maybe it is going fast.

 

We need to hit order numbers in the 429XXXX quickly! =)

 

I like the design, however the mintage too high for platinum coin.

I believe it will go on back order around 4:00PM-5:00PM today. It will sell out in about a week. I don't see a flipper profiting. US Mint, PayPal and Ebay will be the big winners.

 

4289xxx. Got home from ANA Summer Seminar at 10:57, hit the head, then plugged in the computer and ordered. Chrome kept hanging at checkout, so I switched to IE and it worked fine.

 

If we're up to 4289XXX order numbers already, that means at least 7-8,000 of these have already sold. My order number at 12:00pm was 42801XX.

Over 10,000 orders since the first reported, according to another site. Maybe not all for this coin, but we gotta be getting close...

 

@jwitten You may have called it man. One hour. Seems likely at this point.

Doesn't help that MCM has taken a strong pre-sale position on these.
