It still costs more than a cent to make a Zincoln I think. Besides, I'd rather buy modern BU than buy a ryedale and sort for coppers all day. I wouldn't mind how heavy they are if they reach the numbers the 2009 lp4s($200box) or nickels ($50 a roll) have.

nope, huh uh, no way, nada, zip, zilch...not for me...both subjects, if cared too much about, will suck the life right out of you.

That's okay for a special event elongated but not for a local souvenier.

I'm all for the Mint stopping production of the cent. That way everything I collect will be obsolete.

Sad to say, even though I like the Cent coin, Its days are numbered.
    When, hard to say.
At one time we had the ½ cent and 3 cent coins to name a few.
They are now gone as we will see the penny leave.
The Shield cent I feel will be the last design for it.
Just my, well 2 cents on the subject.

The ironic thing about it is as far back as 1979, mint officials were considering the elimination of the cent due to lack of relevance in commerce. Yet, 36+ years later, the cent continues to be made. Why??? Good question. Ha, ha! I suppose old habits are hard to break.

True, But I think Canada dropping the Cent will have alot more effect on if the cent stays or goes.

The more I think about it the life of the cent is not worth keeping except for one reason. And that is advertisement. How many will go to this gas station or that gas station for a 1 or 2 cent cheeper price is gas. I would! Now they must give the correct change for it. Or how about this one, You can buy this item for under $100.00 dollars. When it will cost $99.99. But it is under $100.00 right.

There have been other threads on cents here, and I heard many interesting observations about it on both sides. I have always been mostly impartial to it's fate, but I still like my modest collection of them, whatever their fate will be.

I have 25 boxes of them and still buying at a premium. I believe this would be my first hoard. I was going to buy 2009 boxes instead but I have faith in the 2015's. At most, I could lose 10% of my investment.

Multiple attempts trying to join this site and cannot get it done. Apparently, they don't have enough people to staff the site as one Mod related to me. Maybe you could relay messages for me?

I have not been there since early last year. I decided that I could not be as pleasant as I would like there. It still was a lot of fun, though because people there could be as silly, obnoxious, and honest as they wanted.
