2015 (yes 2015) Coin and Currency Set

I'm on the Mint page right now and these appear to still be available.

I'll bet that they had another system failure because given the frustration and refreshing of 30 minutes of "Page Cannot be Displayed" screens, at 9:40am PT, these appear to still be available.

I would have expected a Product is Currently Unavailable by now.

I finally got 2 after 40 minutes of trying. To be fair though, I ordered other stuff I wanted to combine shipping so that added time.

 

This is worse than talking to an AT&T operator.

 

I suspect a bit of self-fulfilling prophecy here. Everybody who witnessed the Ike debacle wanted to pounce at 12:00:01, to make sure they weren't left out; the resulting surge of traffic overwhelmed the Mint's servers.

Here we are 45 minutes later, the set still isn't sold out -- no surprise, with a 90K limit -- and the site's a good bit speedier. I wouldn't be surprised if these last for a day or more at this point.

 

Agreed. I think the 911 related dollar bill will significantly add to the collectibility of this set and it will sell out sooner than later.

 

I too have received my order acknowledgements. If I get these, I'll be really surprised. And on a Monday at that!

 

the us mint is updating there system so that is what is causing all the confusing.

 

So that's the excuse today??? Why would you schedule your system update at the same time as a highly anticipated product launch???

What's all this? 90k is plenty. These will sell for about $20 each within 1 year.

 

Seems odd to me that many on the forums and blogs are complaining that orders did not go through until after 12:15 or so. Maybe they should go to some lottery system to determine ordering time if they cannot maintain a properly functioning ordering system.

 

You may be right, but a set with a dollar bill that has a cool serial number may bring a lot more.

 

I also ordered another item but what I did is log in a few minutes early & added that item to my bag. I then refreshed the page. I still had problems but at least I didn't have to try and add something else at the same time.

Order # 03497XXX at 3:02 EST is In Process. Took less than a minute.

Looks like I missed the muster muck at 12:00.


Comparing my order # with the earliest I've seen looks like more than 50,000 have sold using 4 per address. They are selling faster than I thought.

 

Wading thru my emails I came across a Product Notification from the Mint. Totally forgot what I was supposed to order at noon today. Anyway, ordered a couple at 3:45 EST. Seems like they are moving slowly.

 

My CC card was hit so they must be shipping soon. TC

I'm kinda surprised by all the hubbub. I couldn't try to order until 12.30 because of my job, and was a little afraid I might miss it. I didn't have problems or delays though!
