Hi, My brother got this silver eagle at a coin show. It looks to be off center slightly, the left side rim is wider than the right rim. Is this anything special for silver eagles or is it common. And there appears to be like a shelf by the side of the letters, or is this just machine doubling. I can post more picture if needed. Thank you.

Most likely a Misaligned Die.. But that could only be established if you show us a picture of the full Obverse and Reverse sides of your coin.

Are mild MADs worth much? I guess severe ones would, but what if it's just a smidge off?

From what I can see, no. It's worth the price of an ounce of silver.
