The flippers are goin' nuts. Glad I got my 2 in. Interesting to see what sales will really be like once the hype dies down. If raw sets are going for 500 imagine the pf 69/70 prices might bring.
I've got a question. What will be worth more in twenty years? The NGC slabbed coins or the one's still in there mint box?
How do you get them at the Mint store when it says you can't buy them there? Give to the Clinton Foundation? Sing a song to the cashier? What I wonder
This is always an easy question for me to answer, just think linearly. You can ALWAYS take a coin out of the OGP and have it graded in the CURRENT reigning T-P-G, you can even have it moved from T-P-G to T-P-G at your whim. However, you can NEVER take a PCGS or NGC, etc, coin and put it back in its original government packaging as it was received when it was first shipped out. So my choice is easy, I keep it in (or with) the OGP until the day I will need to sell it. If I want a graded one, I buy a graded one. If I decide I need to sell the coin, I will evaluate which is the better opportunity (and the right thing to do) at that current time.
Only if you are talking about the original sealed shipping box. If you mean the OGP box and case then sure you can put the coins back in them.
Bought only the Silver Dollar, and could care less about the set. Yes, the dimes will be low mintage, but I do not collect dimes, and am not a flipper. Love my uncirculated Dollar Commemorative.
First day sales!! http://www.coinnews.net/2015/05/05/march-of-dimes-set-scores-first-day-sales-of-52540/
Half of us just reorder it with other names. it should be a sell out. Anyway. I think even without us help. It should sell out within days. I think the maximum retail price for this set can go as high as $150.00. Currently eBay high is $120.00.
I mean technically this is true. However practically it isnt very likely. I mean you are talking about someone either having to maintain their OGP packaging after sending the coin in for grading or finding it on the aftermarket. Then the chances of said packaging being in the same condition as it was received from the mint is unlikely as well. Nevermind any damage or mishandling the coin may have received in all of those transfers to and from packaging and shipping, etc. Again, you are technically correct that it could be done, but realistically the chances of that happening are slim, and I think my premise still stands as a nice general rule of thumb.
Showing as "Backordered" today with a expected arrival in August. I wasn't able to place an order yesterday, so today I'm backordered. Just ordered 1 for me. Rob
I just got an email stating my 5 sets have shipped. The online status still shows "Processing". I'll believe the email..
Flipping the key dates for this series for a $20 profit after fees, may be the definition of insanity.
