found this today and I am clueless on what would cause this. At first I thought it was my usb microscope acting strange but I put another coin under it and it looked fine. I need a new micro camera as this one doesn't show color or toning of the coin but for now this is what I have. My question is what would cause this, I see doubling, struck through grease die chips at the top of Washington head some strange raised addition. I don't know there are so many things that I see on this coin im at a loss and hope someone else can tell me what they think
One of my favorites . I have about 30 of theses now, difference dates and mint-marks too .. Lets see if anybody knows what I'm talking about ? Its a DDO too ....
I found one of theses a couple of months ago . Its called a " Double Ear Lobe " .. Heres the best two image from the thread OP ..
What you have is severe die deterioration accompanied by at least one die chip. It's the sort of deterioration that plagues the America The Beautiful series.
I'll take images of mine and its a double ear lobe .. That is the only ddo for any of theses quarters, including statehood too ..
Heres a 2013-P Perry's Victory which is Wexler DDO-002 . Not much different then the OP for the worn die effect . Don't know why John Wexler never mention theses kinds of things on his site . Heres the link to wexler site http://www.doubleddie.com/1445861.html
