I don't see a silver medal on the product schedule for 2015 http://catalog.usmint.gov/full-product-schedule-2015.html
I hate to contradict what I previously stated, but if gold continues its trend into the sell-date of July 30th, I will most likely end up purchasing one of these on release. I simply cannot in good conscience deprive myself of the possibility of a nice long-term on this product, whether I like the design or not.. gah, the horrors of contradiction..
I too like the sword. It is NOT a bad thing to Honor the defenders of the Flag! It's a much more balanced design as well.
$1099.99 gold = $50 instant discount. I like this, especially if prices go up following week and there ISN'T a sell out(unlikely). Regardless, I think the Mint ensured a sell out with their high HH limit.
It's not a bad looking coin, but I think I'll buy an old coin instead. I already have too many running subscriptions with the mint and I'm not really even a modern coin guy. I'm one of the remaining fools keeping up with the first spouse gold (business and proof no less). One more year to go with that one. The good news is that I'll have forty ounces of extra scrap for the zombie apocalypse when it's finally over.
I haven't. At least, not yet -- and the longer it goes without selling out, the less I guess I'm motivated to do so.
I just wanted to see how it was going so I went to the web site and put one in the shopping cart, so now I'll empty my cart.
I went ahead and picked one up. Even if it is not an immediate winner, I think it will do well over time.
