I'm not exactly sure how to interpret your comment. Are you saying the silver medal has added to the popularity of these sets? I'm still on my first cup of coffee and my comprehension is also just waking up.
If you are collecting the series, then yes. I have The Marshall, Franklin, Lincoln, Roosevelt, Truman, Kennedy, and Johnson.
I think he meant the Roosevelt set does not have a Reverse Proof golden dollar as the others do. Probably why they are still available at the Mint.
If I'm not mistaken, the only presidential medals struck by the mint in silver, are in theses sets. The other medals are struck in bronze and are sold by the mint in the $40 range.
That was kind of my point. The only reason I started collecting these sets was for the reverse proof and I also believe that's why the became popular starting with the Truman set. I thought the Roosevelt set was still available due to no reverse proof golden dollar. Either way, I in now way want to tell people what they should collect. I have a couple sets I'm working on, but I also have an eclectic collection of bullion, world coins, some Conder Tokens and U.S. coins. I gravitate to large silver coins. But I have an affinity for reverse proofs as well as modern bullion that I think has an interesting design. Anyway, after reading Hommer's response, at the time, I could interpret it in many ways.
