I got confirmation emails as well. DONE!! Absolutely NO desire to buy multiple sets--I am not a flipper, and have no desire to do so.
Normally, I wouldn't be buying these sets, but I really like reverse proofs. Thanks to Ken (Green18), I have the Truman. I was able to get the Ike and JFK's directly from the mint.
4 hr. Sellout article... http://mintnewsblog.com/2015/10/lyndon-b-johnson-coin-chronicles-set-unavailable/
Today was a successful day for the mint website and the coin release. I was a bit surprised that it took four hours to sell out but that is a good sign. More collectors probably ended up with coins instead of getting raked up by bloodsucking flippers like me. Now if only I could invest in real estate like I invest in coins. I have to say though (being a flipper), I am looking forward to collecting this full set over time. I think it will be really great to have all of the silver metals and RPs together. Cheers!
I got one set. I think that the 4 hour window is a good one. It sure makes things a little more reasonable than the minutes wide band that we got for Truman. I missed Eisenhower and as stated above the competition for Truman simply crushed me. So now I have Lincoln (remember that one?), Kennedy and Johnson. I guess that I'll have to get after Truman and Eisenhower at the shows.
@Excuse_Me , I doubt it. I believe it's a picture of a previous shipment. I did receive notification my order shipped today. But even if I paid for expedited shipping, which I did not, I would not get it until tomorrow.
I have my two in hand already UPS dropped them off at like 930 this morning but I choose overnight shipping.
I paid for overnight shipping and received a "Shipped" notice last night yet, the UPS Tracking only shows that a label was printed and that when they receive the package, they'll update the tracking information.
Yeah I got the shipped email yesterday too but they actually were delivered today. I'd contact the mint and try and get them to knock some shipping costs off if you paid for it and they didn't provide it. http://wwwapps.ups.com/WebTracking/processInputRequest?tracknum=1ZA5983W0152432885&cm_mmc=ExactTarget-_-Transactional-_-ShippingConfirmation-_-Prod Details - Tracking Number&utm_source=Transactional&utm_medium=EMAIL&utm_content=Prod Details - Tracking Number&utm_campaign=ShippingConfirmation Now it's just a decision on whether or not I open the box up and look at them or not.
What interested me in the sets, starting with Truman, was the reverse proof golden dollar. I think that is why the sets have been so popular. The Roosevelt set has a regular proof golden dollar.
