I just heard that a Mint employee made a mistake when creating the webpage and left out a "0" when putting in the total mintage for this set. So there will be 153,000 available later on today.:D

Oh well, I even called up to see what was going on. The CSR told me that it had sold out in minutes. I even got the email advertising the product well after it sold out. She did tell me that I should put in a reminder through the site in case they produce more. Unfortunately she's not a decision maker so...

    Mine too.

    Twice??

I wonder what's up with that? (2 Pending Transactions for the price of my order from the US Mint.)

Too funny. I set an appointment in my outlook, but went to lunch early. Missed out. The sets are already selling for around $100 on eBay.

If anyone has an extra, I'd be grateful to buy it!

Also, when you get them, I'd like to get opinions on the reverse proof.

On the NGC forum it was reported that someone got the Product unavailable notice at 12:10. Yep they went quick. Only faster sell out has been the "Limited" number of MoD sets they put up a couple weeks ago, The 200 sets that sold out in about 20 seconds.

Unopened boxes of 5 are already on eBay as well. Range from $495 - $895.

How would you like to be working the worst job in the world today - mint customer service?

Hopefully the mint rethinks the next issue, Eisenhower.

  12. Hmmm. I only have one US Mint charge on my CC. You may want to call your CC company.

  13. Wow! eBay PRESALE prices are taking off on these.

To me the US Mint is just producing way too much products. They are flooding our minds and pockets. If they can see this then they should go back to basic but with a little twist. Limits all the basic products and charge more for them.

I wonder if CT members bought all 17,000 sets?

Congrats to all you guys I'm sitting these out.

Well, I gave in and called for an explanation. "Cindy" stated that one order was to insure that it would process (enough credit available) and the second for the actual order.

She said that her system showed that the sets had already shipped so, if that's true, then my worries are over. I was concerned that some type of system screw up might have prevented me from actually receiving what I had ordered in a timely fashion.

Saul Good. Saul Good. (For now at least)

Not hardly. Folks over on CU bought their limit as well.

I'm also showing double my order charged yet taken out of my actual bank account balance because I used my debit card. I'm sure one of the charges will not settle or at least hope so don't feel like dealing with a hassle fixing it if it doesn't.

So, these RP's should create some interest in a relatively dead series, due to end next year. Now we have some truly scarce, key dates and relatively low mintage business strikes for half of the years, as well as proofs and satin finishes. As with many series, once they end and collectors can see a full set that can be completed now, with rarities, interest increases.
