Sorry, I had you mixed up with someone else, however my point was the flippers screw this up, I dont see how the mint can expect single customers buying a 100 at a time.

And I will say that I do want at least one set for appreciation value to capitalize on at a later date, but thats about as far as I get involved with trying to profit off of the US Mint

I can understand the mint screwing up the orders, as let’s face it incompetence abounds at the mint. Actually the mint set a new incompetence precedent with this set. First it screws up the rollout by misadvertising what the set is. Then, when it is discovered the coin in the set is unique, rather than limit orders already placed and not filled, as it reserves the right to do, it fills single orders for hundreds of sets. Didn’t the mint state after the 2011 ASE Set fiasco that it would take steps to more fairly distribute limited collectables? Guess that would upset their large customers, so as usual, the little guy loses again. All I can say is get used to it, unless you want to write your congressional representatives, as your complaints to the mint will fall on deaf ears. Sure, you’ll get patronizing responses from the mint, but that’s about all.

Hey guys, nobody was more surprised than me to see my 12/11 order being shipped the next day. How the devil you 12/4 guys got passed over is amazingly incomprehensible to me. I guess there's still a few bugs to be worked out with the new ordering system.

Yeah, I’ll tell you, that new website sucks. Granted most orders are placed and filled faster now, but the site came with too many takeaways. The features I miss the most are the “No longer available page” and now that column has been removed from their weekly sales report. Guess they’ll no longer update sales figures in the weeks following a sellout. Who knows what the mint is doing, as even they don’t know.

The Mint always comes out ahead, they profit first and have pricing set to ensure it. Everyone else, maybe / maybe not.

The dealers might have to buy it from ebay in order to sell to their customers. Average price at ebay is around $46.00. That's mean dealers have to sell it at between $69.95 to $99.95. Depending they belong to online store category or heavily ads company. Like mailing catalog etc. Let's see how Krispy gonna comment on this one. Krispy is usually very fast and the first one to do that.

Yes, Elaine, you're astute in that I keep up on my subscribed threads and try to keep over optimism in check... To this I say it's just more of your wishful speculation, but where are the results? or the coins you ordered? Just spinning your wheels if you are not realizing these returns or have no coins yet to even deal with. As for mine, the 12/14 backordered status is unchanged.

I thought yours is 12/12. Anyway. Hope you can get it. It looks like if the mint want to fulfill everybody orders before closing. Then I think mint have to produce somewhere around 1,000 to 2,000 set (over 50,000) to accommodate. That's keep the mint thinking so long.

It will be a long shot to see if I get any. I think it might be the returned order of another... I only placed an order of 5 units for the household limit. I'll post if I ever get them.

Krispy. I thought you got five before. And this is your second order. Right?

No. Only 5. I play by the rules of the Household limits.
