Online ordering is VERY Real. And so is that fricking "virtual line" which you never get to see. However, with determination and persistence, you can get an order placed.
I'll make sure to pitch a tent and camp out in line, just like I did for StarWars Episode 1, a week in advance.
Key or Lucky */* @winning % 99,9 mint supper on phone 40min before a set or coin not listed . I have already per paid for on phone that take a few min try keeping on line til theTime selling is allowed .
Not much point getting there early, 15 min before order time they kick everyone off and you can't sign back in until the ordering period starts. (at which point everyone tries to sign in at the same time and the site turns to molasses.
Does anyone know what time a guy would need to get the US Mint booth the day they release these coins?
When the doors open up which is 9:30 for ANA members and 10:00 for the rest of you mortals. They will release them (typically) on Thursday.
I spent $150 for the Early Bird Badge, which alows me in at 8 a.m. everyday. I wonder if they Mint will start selling at 8, or if I'll just stand in line until they start it up at 9:30 or 10?
The coins will not be available any sooner than they are being made available to the general public. The coins will be released on Thursday at noon. Lines will begin to form early that morning as soon as dealers are allowed on the floor. The difference between the Kennedy and HOF coins vs the RP buffs was that everyone found out about the release of the RP buffs once the doors were open which gave everyone equal chance to get in line on the first day. But then the mint said that an additional supply was coming and the next day all the dealers were in line well before the general public was.
The Mint just posted this on Facebook: "The United States Mint is proud to introduce three new products to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Kennedy half-dollar. Our two-coin clad set goes on sale July 24 and contains two uncirculated quality 2014 Kennedy half-dollars from our facilities in Denver and Philadelphia. And the 50th Anniversary Kennedy Half-Dollar Gold Proof Coin goes on sale August 5. This stunning coin contains three-quarters of an ounce of .9999 fine, 24-karat gold and bears the “W” mint mark o...f our West Point facility. For those who love collecting silver coins, we’ll offer the 50th Anniversary Kennedy Half-Dollar Silver Coin Collection that contains a proof quality coin from Philadelphia, a reverse proof coin from West Point, an enhanced uncirculated coin from San Francisco and an uncirculated coin from Denver (on sale date TBD). Stay tuned to our Facebook and Twitter pages for more information about these special products!" Looks like they may be available online first, before being sold at the Chicago ANA...
That's sounds like a very good idea. They will never ship before Chicago ANA, but collectors will perhaps not feel as shafted as with the HOF coins.
anyone know what the price of the 2 coin clad set will be? i'd like to get 2 of them, one to keep as a set and one to crack and put in my Kennedy Half album
Ah, the deceit/misinformation/incompetence has begun! Anyone notice the difference between the Coin World article and the mint’s statement? The CW articles states the half dollars in the 2 coin set will be available ONLY in the set, leaving one to believe these 2 coins will be unique to any others issued. The mint statement simple says the 2 coins will be uncirculated, leaving open the possibility the 2 coins will not be unique and the same coins issued in the mint’s uncirculated mint set.
