You see, here's that 40,000 gold Kennedy coin mintage figure again. I bet they mint at minimum 50,000 gold Kennedy's. We all know the US Mint can get quite greedy at times as they've shown that in the past. I say it's pretty sleazy that they don't say the final mintage up front.

In size, Kennedy gold coins look just like typical halves with their 1.205-inch diameter, 2.16 mm thickness and reeded edge. Visually, the similarities from there begin to depart. The luster of the designs and mirrored surfaces, all in gold, scream "buy me." This is one of those coins that if you have the money and see it, you’re going to get it. If gold prices stay within $1250.00 to $1299.99, you’ll have to say goodbye to $1,240. The U.S. Mint plans to have 40,000 of them ready for launch on Aug. 5, 2014. I can’t predict the future, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see sales fly above 100,000 by the time all is said and done. Of the seven different 50th Anniversary Kennedy halves, it is the only gold coin and the only one with a dual date. Its price will be the main limiting sales factor.

 

It wouldn't surprise me if the US mint strikes 100K given the subject JFK . There a lot folks still a live that remember what here tried to change in America.

I can recall the drilling schools had us do in case of a big boom. It was a fear filled time til the ships turned around .

 

Has anyone traced the provenances of tpg price guides ie special labels fs,er,mint director signatures,usps stamps on rolls,70 etc they all carry a hefty premium.

But they don't know what it's going to be. Every indication is that they will mint as many as they can sell. That's no sleazy at all IMHO.

 

I just plan on buying 2 sets to keep.

 

Since there's no coin legislation regarding this issue I think they can bloody do as they please.......

 

Ya as many as can sell ! Why not it's a win money wise more than about 45-50% can recall the Incident . Mint like post office have do what public wants one a law has pasted.But sign with lead pencil
Mint should be required to only use US mail if you live in America . May slow the greedy tv stuff from happening .
