Hmm, I just checked both my orders and they are both now changed to 7-29 for shipping. I can only assume that maybe by the time they are packaged and actually hit the street it will be Tuesday assuming the shipping facility is closed on weekends.
Well, maybe there are a lot more Kennedy fans out there than some people think. After all, he was the last modern president to be assassinated so I am sure these coins have special interest to many people of my generation who were in high school when it happened and many younger people who I am sure study it in school.
It was more than just being assassinated. JFK was an extremely popular President. Not so much for his policies...but he was handsome and well spoken. He came off like a prince a lot of people were drawn to that. When he was assassinated, it sort of immortalized him. He is remembered as a far greater being than he actually was (as a president or a person) because of this.
This is why I want the complete 2014 set. In 1964 it was February and very cold standing in line to get the first rolls and coin for the New Kennedy half dollar. American had never seen a president gun down on Tv. Kennedy was very popular in New York were I grew up. Even stop at our court house on his campaign . I don't think I will be around 25 more years for the 75th set.
New >>>> Product will be available for shipping 08/07/2014 Mine : 2014 HALF-DOLLAR 2-ROLL SET (P&D) 1 $32.95 $32.95 1 unit shipped on 07/25/2014 2014 KENNEDY ANNIVERSARY UNC CLAD SET 5 $9.95 $49.75 5 units backordered. Expected to ship on 07/29/2014. What the heck? Mine were ordered at 12:30PM. They shipped my rolls but not my Unc's? Now I am pissed.
Why would you be mad that you have to wait a few extra days? Not like you have to pay more to ship them.
Government. Would probably cost them 3 x to have to keep track of the order until the whole thing could be shipped together. Rob
The govt. does strange things...which is why we are in such a mess in this country in many ways. I ordered 3 copies of the signed presidential certificate for my deceased father's military service. They are free, ordered on one form. What do they do? Send THREE separate cardboard envelopes with one certificate each in it all arriving the same day. And you wonder about govt. waste????
I agree it makes no sense. Kinda like them overnighting free bags to us, and then having to refund our $5 shipping cost because they ran out of coins anyways. It is stupid, but nothing to really get mad about.
