Artists rendition, not an actual coin.

I just got my copy of NN. They are reporting that the gold Kennedy is minted and will be on sale at the ANA World Fair of money in Rosemont IL. I don't know what the purchase limits will be on these, but it's possible these could sell out at the show and there'll be none for the rest of us.

No way they'd pull that. That would get them SO MUCH bad press in the collecting world they'd lose a large portion of their collector base.

  6. Lol...that will never happen. They would lose so many customers. The only thing special at the show will be the labels, and I do not collect labels.

True BUT, given the technology that the US Mint currently employs using CNC creation of Hubs, I believe that this is not far off from what the coin will actually look like if not exactly what it will look like.

All I know is one or more but will post whatever the US mint sends them. Silver Clad and Gold.
    Time will show us .

"PCGS will have a special one-time offering at the Chicago ANA. Of course we will also offer special First Strike and non-First Strike labels.
The details of these offerings will be released soon.
Of course the availability of this offering is dependent on the Mint's release schedule."

Hey, for a mere $10 a coin I'll slap a nonsensical sticker on any Kennedy Coin you've got!

Folks are constantly whining about how not enough young folks are getting into the hobby which will eventually kill it.

These stupid slab labels is going to cause way more harm than whether or not your 2 year old has an interest in some coin!

I'm of the opinion that the TPG's are walking a very fine line with all this crap that they are offering which is starting to make the HSN Boys look like angels.

What cameo proof on one side and matte proof on the other? (They haven't said anything like that but it might be interesting. Another "unique" feature for the coin.)

I read somewhere it would be cameo on both sides.. the rendering was not correct

Most likely the rendering was done early on and they were considering both a proof and an Unc version. They made renderings of both and when they released this image the grabbed the proof obv and the Unc rev images.

This is not unexpected as I also expect more dealers to begin their promotions.
They'll also probably solicit some of their customers to act as "buyers" on their behalf to insure a large inventory of coins for submission.

This product is going to get very ugly very quickly for folks that are ordering online due to the large dealer presence and the desire to make a buck.

I do not fault them at all but folks need to know what they will be up against when it does come time to order.

Part of me really wishes that they would offer all the ordering options at the ANA show. That way, I'd at least be assured that I'd get my sets in a timely manner instead of having to wait 3 months while the US Mint feeds the "Over the Counter" sharks.

Has the mint published any mintage/purchase limits?

    Unknown "at this time".

I'm really hoping that these do not become "required" for the Kennedy Registry Sets but I expect that they will be since the 1998-S SMS Coin is required and it was a commemorative. That's really going to suck and more than likely, force me completely out of ay registries since I simply cannot afford two gold coins.

It's the normal limit as for mintage no numbers have been posted for set.
Gold com 500k was the last limit quoted.
