I'd love for them to do something in 2017 though.  Possibly altering the JFK half design itself, with a permanent change to the series taking effect in 2018, like they've done for the Lincoln cent and Jefferson nickel. P.S.  The mint sort of "commemorated" a coin before; the 1996-W dime was minted essentially to mark the 50th anniversary of the FDR dime.  However, that was a lot more low-key and a minor alteration to an existing regular issue rather than a full-blown commemorative.   Oh yeah and this, sort of.  But again that's really just an alteration to already existing coin series rather than a commemorative in its own right.[/QUOTE]
