My ⭐️ Note has a doubled number 5, is it worth anything? I can’t find it on ⭐️ Note lookup either

I just thought it was weird when I started looking this Star Note over that the first number 5 in the serial number, looked like it was doubled. Does anyone know anything about this, or how only one number could be doubled? Thank you.

A little over inking, probably not much if any premium. It’s not uncommon.

I see that quite regularly in that spot for some reason.

You'll see that on a lot of bills. Also sometimes a number will be a little higher
or a little lower on the line. As in anything, it has to be really dramatic to have
    any significance.

Fairly common on 2013 one dollar bills. Out of 100 I went through, I ended up finding a total of eleven that had the third digit with extra ink. Also, when posting photos, kindly click "full size" so we don't have to enlarge the photos.

Not extra ink, at least in the overink sense, since both serials have the same digit that way, I think it is a set of worn number wheels - I think they replace them as they go and the longer they are used the flatter they get, and more likely to adhere more ink to the paper with a larger, flatter footprint. Would bet that is the deal on this...

I think it really is overinked. Ever since LEPE started serialling currency, this extra-bold third digit has been seen rather often. Since it's always the third digit, I don't think we can put it down to wear on the number wheels. I think it must have something to do with the way ink flows to the LEPE numbering heads, but I don't know enough about them to explain how it happens.

Very common and it's just a little too much ink.

But how could the overinking affect JUST that third serial wheel, on both sides? If it was too much ink overall, it wouldn't confine itself that consistently. Strange, trying to account serially for it - if they replaced the 5 least significant digits more often, that'd still mean the left three would be used the same, why not replace the third digit? The third digit would rotate more than the left two, but less than the right five. So, on number runs up to one million, that third wheel would see alot of sustained use, but so would the left two.

I am losing my mind here coming up with scenarios, but too much ink seems like it'd be... sloppier, like other overink errors. Are the wheels inked individually? That would be a strange design, but might allow for some accounting maybe.
