Ok so i have a 2013 D Lincoln Shield penny and at the end of the LIBERTY by the top right part of the Y there os a 5. Never seen anything like it. Opinions greatly appreciated.
Plating issue. Paredolia effect. It's a copper plated zinc cent. New collectors sometimes think they see things. It's just weird shapes. They are not errors.
As mentioned above, there's nothing there. It's NP Numismatic Pareidolia There might be a small copper plating bubble in the area you're talking about. Common, not considered an error, and it's certainly not a digit.
Welcome to CT Tiffany. Seeing shapes, letters, and numbers in coins with dings and circulation wear is common, especially when we are straining to see minute details. As mentioned, just a crappy Zincoln cent with plating issues, but hang in there and keep looking.
