Thankyou for the info. I do know it was a die clash for the franklyn, its just visually similar. I will concentrate on being less abstract in my comments and polls. Paddyman98 , "under the radar" is a phrase that means something that is not considered or maybe routinely forgotten about or even outright ignored by the majority of people . so my idea of the mint trying to work on that die came from the sequence of the dimes themselves as i pulled them from the roll and inspected them . the roll is loaded with varieties i have already matched on wexlers and coneca , the hotlips is one, a bunch of f.s.501s a single f.s.502 , five f.s.801s and so on. ( I find the mint errors far more daunting to learn about than die varieties so far. I started collecting a year and a half ago and have much learning to do still) about 17 in i get my one strong hotlips, two weaker and one almost non existant and i see more and more , larger and larger polishing marks, and then an actual grinder and the doubling disapears on the chin, lips ,nose and forhead but remains on the igwt and date and libr of liberty .thing is , im a gunsmith by trade and i use these die grinders and polishing wheels and rotary tools ect. As well as leaening how to indentify their use. Because people like to ruin stuff by "improving" whatever it is...by grinding at it with a dremel tool. This to me seemed like a failed attempt at refacing a die, do to metal not bonding properly to the workwd surface. missing a degreasing in acetone and then dilute sulphuric acid, Distilled water , and again the acetone, the surface may have regected the bond . they would fill in the voids and build up the surface with d2 tool steel or other impact resistant alloy , grind it back to as new tollorences and reingrave.( it is more complex , but thats the idea) . i am showing the picture of that segs " buggsbunny" dime and screen shots of a 2011 s.a.e. with partial collar error from mr.fred weinburgs online inventory. This is what my 2013 burneshed eagle's rim looks like in person. if i can ever get that quality of photo, it would be easily visible on mine. What i think is a die clash on the same coin, is a big mark just at the tip of the fingers of ladyliberty's outstretched hand. The rim is highly effected in that same area . i hope this helps a little more.

. lol.and yes the segs pictures are real, an ebay seller has several marked like that and also has many marked as overpolished dies ,They were all 1964d also. This is why the over polishing and buggs bunny term stuck with me.
