If I have heard everything correctly, there will be P-D-S business strikes (S business strike not intended for circulation), D (unconfirmed) and S Proof strikes and S silver proofs. No word yet on D silver proofs. So your next Dansco with proofs will have P-D-D-S-S-S slots. A bit much, but as a proof collector, it finally makes modern coins worth collecting. The possibility of Denver proofs has me all gitty inside.
"No word yet on D silver proofs." Actually, D proofs as a whole are still unconfirmed. But I have heard from two different sources that D proofs are coming soon. How soon that is, or what they will produce is anybodys guess.
Sorry, my lips are sealed on that. I don't want to get anyone in trouble. But I would call the sources "reliable government employees". I know, oxymoron.
This type of situation with unnamed "reliable sources" came up here once before and was proven false. I have absolutely no trust in any information from "unnamed sources".
I just looked at the July 5 mint stats report from Numismatic News. They report that 4994 bags of 100 and 7907 rolls have been sold. I may be wrong, but my math says that's only 815,680 coins. If these don't sell a lot, will the mint discontinue these? If they do, could prices rise substantially?
Mint information is wrong. 4994 bags were sold and paid for. Only 4992 were delivered (they missed ADDING the two 100 count bags that I ordered.
The Mint information isn't wrong. They never said anything about being delivered, they just said sold.
