If I stare at it long enough I also see a 3. But I also know that if it is actually a 3, it had to have happened outside the mint as there is no way a 3 could have been done at the mint.
I understand. I just got off a FaceTime call with my 80 year-old grandmother, and out of curiosity, I showed her the penny. All I asked was, "Do you see anything out of the ordinary?" and her response was, "Well, I see a "3".) lol. I certainly appreciate the feedback.

The reason members can say with confidence that it isn't an error is they know the minting and die die making process. And what you see couldn't have occurred at the mint.
