Reminds me of 7th grade art class --- mandatory. So I'm in art class and we have a project we have to do in two days. Which is to take a 16 X 20 board and create something that is "art". I started drawing some realistic animals, but had trouble with the proportions, etc., 'cause I'm really not naturally talented that way. Teacher comes along, sees what I'm doing, says that's not art, and to wash it off in the sink and start over. I do so, with her help, but the colors don't come off all the way and it's all smudged and horrid. So I get mad and start taking dirty browns, etc and rubbing it all over willy-nilly, washing it off, doing it over same way 2-3 more times. Next day she praises it and give it an "A". I hated it, knew it wasn't "art" and did poorly in her class the rest of the year. Years later, many more classes in school, regular and college, appreciate artists like Van Gogh, and many of the Masters. Totally enjoyed the Hermitage in St Petersburg, Russia and a number of famous museums that have real artwork in them also. Saw a few shows of weird stuff called art in various places and even more pretentious write-ups/explanations of the same, but thought it a load. Kind of applies to what I'm seeing here. You can have your opinion, but in mine, it's no where near the masters and I hardly have to study and understand the symbolism to see it. As I said before, one person's opinion of a coin can be one thing and another totally different. Again....vive la difference!
