OMG CRAZY! Couldn't they at least wait for the mint to take them off the catalog. That greed monster must call to them at night. I'll have to dust off every colorful metaphor in my vocabulary and watch the recording! Wish me luck, and I'll be sure to bring along a bottle of aspirin!

I was wrong, this is the set they were selling for $49

    http://catalog.usmint.gov/webapp/wc...ctId=16194&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=45005

That's $21.95 from the mint and you can still get it!

Regardless the markup is insane!!! I do remember them saying what better time to get them since the 2011 are out already.
As in trying to fool folks into believing they are the only source to get these Uber rare state park quarters. I was happy I didn't hear Early release - First Strike - Pedigree! Luckily they didn't or I would of went Elvis on my TV!

What I would pay to have these two sell my house!!! I bet I could turn a profit while the housing market is dead!

Never a good idea to go "Elvis" on the TV.......:)

Great idea about getting these guys to stimulate the housing market though......:)

I agree. The Washington's are terrible on the ATB quarters. If you buy coins for looks, these are not for you. I liked the State Quarter Washington's that had a very strong striking of the image. The new proofs have a washed out image that appears as a very weak strike.

I got my three sets today. I had some significant lint inside the plastic case of one of the ATB quarter sets. I'm planning on returning one of the three sets but I have a question. Who pays for returning a set to the mint?

I agree. Could you just imagine the uproar if sellers on EBAY instituted this policy ? We would have folks spontaneously combusting all over the place ! LOL

Time was though, that you could get the mint to pick up the "tab". Alas, no longer....

I just picked up set today but someone ordered 4 and waiting for the other 2 to arrive which I have to return. Funny thing was/is that on the first set they charged me the $4.95 S&H and the second one the mint didnt..so I am hoping that if I return the one I just received then i will have free S&H :)

BTW did everyone see that the SAE will be available by 07/06/2011?

I'm trying to figure out if it is worth the effort to return a proof set just because of some lint under the plastic. Is it really worth the effort? My time is worth time you know and it will cost me at least $4 to send it back. I'm thinking no.

call the mint first and see what they say and if they will reimburse you.
