2011 penny with ? wing

    What appears to be feathers can be seen above Liberty. Would someone explain, please?

    Interesting. Could be a few things that could of caused this, planchet flaw, deteriorated die, plating issue. Maybe the Cent was coated with some varnish? I know what it's not.. can't be a clash.

    It is slightly raised, reminded me of the eagle wing. I know that is not possible.
