I found this shiny new 2011 Dime in my pocket change. Normal dimes have a stripe of copper around its edge, but this dime's edge is ALL copper. It has not been tampered with because its in like-new condition with reeded edge. Any one know if this is an error/rare coin and if it would be worth anything?

    Welcome to CT, Lisa.

Regular copper-striped edge 2011 Dime vs. Copper-only edge 2011 Dime

Dime on the left is the NORMAL copper-striped reeded edge.

Dime on the right is the copper-only reeded edge that I'm inquiring about.

    Both 2011 P dimes

    What do you think?

Those are not good pics. Try posting 3 pics. One of each side, close up, straight on, cropped and in focus. Another close-up of the edge. Leave the comparison coin out.

After taking pic after pic after pic...I don't know how to work with my camera's settings enough to make it PERFECT enough focus in any angle. That picture I posted is the closest to focus I could get. If you click and zoom in image you see the difference between the two dimes. Its the same way around the entire edge of the Dime. No funny business. The obverse and reverse are like any other 2011 Dime.

this is common for coins to be this way. there will be a bit of differences in the copper edges of them.

Both are normal for the species as all 3 layers are present.
