Hey all! Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that the U.S. Mint has scheduled a release date for the “burnished” American Eagle on 09/29/2011. The American Eagle Silver Uncirculated Coin made its debut back in 2006, and was continued for two consecutive years after that (i.e. 2007 and 2008). However, in 2009 an American Silver Eagle was not produced in either a proof or uncirculated “burnished” version – all minting resources were allocated to producing the bullion version of the coin. The year of 2010 saw the return of the proof version of the American Silver Eagle, but once again resources were focused on producing bullion rather than uncirculated “burnished” versions. Thus, this year marks the return of “burnished” American Eagle after having a hiatus of two years.
Great glad to hear it. I have a 2007 and a 2008 I bought in the Annual Sets. I had the 2006-W burnished as well but I sold it! My bad, but I'll get another. We'll have to see when Sept gets here to find out if I get any. It would be really cool to get a whole roll of them beauties, we'll see. Usually we'll see means, I'll get one.
Glad to see they're back. I've got a subscription for these babys but it's been sitting dormant for the last 3 years. Guess all the "hate mail" that the mint recieved regarding these issues finally made them see the light.
EDIT: Just scored a 2006-W Burnished ASE in original mint packaging with all the extras for $67.26 shipped.
Way to go swagge! Now you have the key to the set! We will see what type of numbers the 2011 version will do though...
