What's wrong with 50 year old women? Especially if you're a 50 (well, almost 60) year old man......:smile

In all seriousness though, I fell in love with these coins when the US Mint came out with the "Legacies of freedom" set back in 2004 .......http://www.usmint.gov/pressroom/index.cfm?flash=yes&action=press_release&id=480

Quite frankly, I like all of the designs. :smile

Well Di isn't/wasn't the Sovereign, and it isn't Her Majesty's fault that she's getting old... The Machin bust is a lot more attractive, but that reflected how the Queen looked when she was a lot younger...

Have to agree Prestoninanus, also Queenie is English, she was born in Mayfair London, her Mother Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon was also born in London, and her Father King George V was born at Sandringham Estate in Norfolk (Same place as Diana) :D

    Britannia can be decidedly HOT:

Come on, people! This is one of the most striking portraits ever rendered in metal. Can't you envision loyal Britannia perched on a rocky outcropping at the British shore with her defiant trident poised at the ready? Can't you feel the brisk, cold Atlantic wind whipping around her and hear the rush of the sea? She stands proud in defense of her country, majestic and mighty, prepared for battle yet willing to offer a branch of peace. Truly magnificent!!

Same here... I posted the gold version because that was the best pic I could find on the 'net. It certainly looks good in gold though, doesn't it?

My favorite. She's almost like a reverse proof.....

Yes, the 2001 has a "modernistic" look....

Here is my favorite image of "The Thing." She is from the Solomon Islands and its the reverse of the coin I like best. Makes her look like she is on the THRONE . Traci :kewl:

I received the two 2010 Britannias i ordered today.

The obverse portrait is much nicer in hand than in the sales photos/drawings ... if fact actually attractive :hail:
