The $4.95 shipping was per order wasn't it. If you had more than one in your order it was still $4.95. Still with the other fees it's no better than break even. There were lots of reports of problem coins though, I wonder if these are the less desirable ones that folks are just trying to get out of if they didn't get to return or exchange them
Dave, Do you have a source for that figure? I highly doubt the final mintage will be that precise/rounded in the end. The last reported figure was 856,356 as published by Coin Update News [1/4/11] in this article: US Mint Sales: More Proof Eagles Sell Out
Kris you really do enjoy trying to correct everyone don't you... The complete US Mint numismatic product sales report appears below. Figures are compiled as of January 9, 2011. The first number column represents total sales through the reporting date, and the second number column represents the change in sales since the last report. Figures which are followed by an asterisk (*) are no longer available for sale from the United States Mint. Lines appearing in bold are for products which debuted on this report. Dave, No, I take no pleasure in repeatedly having to request from others that they include verifiable sources of information to back up the things they post from something they read elsewhere, especially when we are talking about something precise, like a coins mintage. I find it good practice to share one's sources, so could you tell me where this(these) figure(s) was(were) published? I understand based on the numbers you have shared in your recent post that the additional 3,644 sales, increases the previous 856,356 figure reported on 1/4 to 860,000. Thank you.
