My landed in Leetsdale, PA at 11:07 this morning. The expected delivery date is 1 December 2010. I guess they'll be sending them by Pony Express from Leetsdale to central NY.
This poor fellow received damaged ASE proofs today......... http://forums.collectors.com/messageview.cfm?catid=26&threadid=795865 Keep your eyes open.
Coin News.net - Reporting 2200 orders placed between 2:00pm and 3:00pm were cancelled ! The article states that the mint is working to correct the problem.
I haven't read the last few days of this thread but wanted to chime in since I just received an interesting email. I was able to place my order about 2 hours after the ASE's went on sale. After I placed the order I went to lunch and basically forgot about it. On Monday I realized I never received an email confirmation. I logged into my US Mint account and noticed there was no order. I called and talked to customer service and they had no answer for me why it wasn't there. I resubmitted my order but who knows when I'll get it. I got the following email a few minutes ago: On Friday, November 19, 2010, at noon (ET), the United States Mint released the highly popular American Eagle Silver Proof Coin. Unfortunately, because of the high order volume from this product launch, we encountered some technical difficulties that led to the deletion of some Internet orders. These orders were placed between noon on Friday, November 19, and 7:30 p.m. (ET) on Sunday, November 21. We apologize and deeply regret the inconvenience. Our records indicate that the order below was among those deleted. Customer Name: (my name) Order #: (order number) Ordered Items:2010 AE SILVER PRF 1 OZ To protect your financial privacy, we have programmed our systems so that they do not retain your payment information in these circumstances. Consequently, we are unable to automatically reinstate your order without this information. Accordingly, to reinstate your order, please call 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468), 8 a.m. to midnight (ET), seven days a week (except Thanksgiving Day). Hearing and speech-impaired customers may call 1-888-321-MINT (6468) from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (ET), Monday through Friday (except Thanksgiving Day). When you call to replace your order, please request priority handling and an upgrade to expedited shipping. We will provide both these services at no additional charge. This error occurred because of the overload on our system. We are taking measures to address system capacity issues to ensure that this problem does not occur again. Again, we deeply regret the inconvenience this has caused and appreciate your patience. We look forward to hearing from you soon. United States Mint Customer Service Center
A darned shameful occurrance and customer service nightmare! Here's the link for those looking to read up on this story: US Mint Accidentally Deletes 2,200 Proof Silver Eagle Orders from CoinNews.net [11/24/10]
Wow! They better send you a free mint set or something special as an apology. The U.S. Mint has really flubbed up the customer service with this product release and is double-timing to correct these wrongs.
Great..My order was at 2:23. I still show the order in there but it says your order request is on hold under the order status. Whatever that means. I know the credit card charge is pending but actually hasn't got charged by the mint yet.
This evening's FedEx SmartPost update has my two orders having reached the Edison, NJ location for USPS local delivery. This puts my ealges within 30 miles or so of their final destination... No postal delivery tomorrow on the holiday, maybe Friday or Saturday will be the day, but still showing 11/29 Monday as my estimated date of delivery.
An order I placed at 8:30 PM on the 19th shows "in process", but each day that goes by finds the expected shipping date being pushed back by a day.
Chris, my order originally showed the 26th as the expected delivery date. You can imagine my surprise when I received them yesterday. Hopefully you'll get yours Friday.
Received 95 of 100 on the 23rd and 24th. Off to NGC for grading! Last 5 are floating around with USPS...
