That's your opinion. The same could be said of all of coin collecting and any hobby or irrational pursuit.
It remains to be seen, and compared to other years' Proof ASE mintages what the 2010 mintage will be: low, mid or high or even a record high.
My FedEx tracking numbers are past the 'initiated' phase and are now active on the FedEx tracking page for both of my subscriptions.
I hear what you are saying, but the people who purchased 2008 certified fractional gold buffalo coins back in 2008/2009 from them are no fools. TC
Anyone else having trouble accessing your "My Account" page on the mint site? I can track orders, etc. but am locked out of my account summary page. Thanks, TC
Hey that's quite alright if someone wants to spend a $100.00 on an item that can be had for half that cost......go for it! For me I think it's foolish, especially since it still could be had directly from the Mint for $50.00 . CSN is selling them at $130.00 . It would be an entirely different case, if they could not be had so easily .
You cannot get certified "2010 proof 70 silver eagles for $95" from the Mint. That is what you were opining about in response to the post about Modern Coin Mint's offer.
I understand, but there is a good chance one might get one directly from the Mint that would grade the same for half that seller's asking price. What happened to " Buy the Coin" and not the holder. I just think it's way too early in the game to be paying that sort of a premium . For me, I think it's foolish. As I said, CSN is selling the proof coin alone for $129.00 and the MS70 $150.00
Post #456 you quoted Silver E C-C about the MCM offer: in which you said ...assuming others are buying these pieces and you judged them as fools for doing choosing to do it, to which I pointed out to you in post #460 "That's your opinion. The same could be said of all of coin collecting and any hobby or irrational pursuit."
2010 Proof and the piece I was referring to was this:http://cgi.ebay.com/2010-W-American...ultDomain_0&hash=item20b55a0cb0#ht_500wt_1156
Sorry coinman, but what you said earlier based on what you quoted belies what you are now saying you were trying to quote. In future, you should be more careful to align your statements attributed to the proper quoted post and likewise refrain from calling others fools for how they choose to approach the hobby.
Sorry but no. I'm tracking you quite well. As I've already stated, my post #460 quotes your post #456, not those earlier posts you're referring to now, but your, "Watch the fool's do their thing." comment. Yet in either case, those potential eBay bidders or those buying on MCM, you're blindly pre-judging others based on their decisions of whom to shop with and buy from. It's not up to you to deem anyone a fool for this their decision. You don't know their personal circumstances. You don't know if those potential buyers are international buyers unable to process orders through the US Mint or unwilling to wait for shipment from the Mint risking not getting an item. You don't know if those potential buyers are willing to pay these inflated prices just so they secure one in the event prices inflate should there be a sell out. For any reason, there's no reason for you to judge other collectors fools for how they approach the hobby. You may think their actions foolish but there's no place to generalize others outwardly as fools.
the coin vault is selling the PF69UCAM Early Release 25th anniversary label at $89.95 and the same in PF70 at $129.95 and they say theirs are in stock and ready to ship. Now I ask how did they get these already back from NGC when they just went on sale last thursday???? I think the mint colluded with these coin tv shows, that's the impression I'm getting. If you don't get yours blame these folks selling on TV I think. This is just not right and was exactly what I was afraid of. I see that my card was charged for my two that I have subscriptions for but still has my order on the mints website with same status "In stock and reserved" no tracking# yet. Hmmm...
justndav: I just got my tracking numbers Sunday evening for my first subscription and early, early AM Monday for the second subscription. This afternoon the FedEx tracking numbers for my orders were finally live on the FedEx tracking page. If you've gotten this far you should be seeing those tracking numbers on your Mint order tracking page soon, followed by an update email that your items shipped.
