Is the Buffalo Frosting complaint the same thing we noticed on the BSA $1?

Early first day order, status JUST (within the last hour) changed from "In stock and reserved" to "...backordered. Expected to ship on 12/06/2010." :rollling: This AFTER they'd charged my card.

Apparently the various order statuses and updates are the product of a random number generator. pretty clearly, if you have an item IN STOCK, and have RESERVED it for someone's order, then it can't later be BACKORDERED unless you're completely full of **** and making this stuff up as you go along.

To me that is my fear for the 2010 Proof ASEs.

That tracking number goes back to 2006. My is 35707.... which comes from my subscription that I started in early November 2010.

I really don't want to become the object of scorn, but all this hullabaloo about ordering early, subscription membership, ship dates ect... may be a bit over blown. I ordered my coin last night, after everyone busily join all these mint programs and worried about availability. I went right into the site without a wait and have a shipping date of 12/05/2010 like everyone else. I did this with the Boyscout Commemorative, Lincoln Chronicles set, Lincoln Silver Proof and even the 2009 UHR $20 Gold Coin. I receive them just as fast (Sent my gold piece into PCGS and got a First Strike MS70 label) and without any hassle or wait when ordering. I am either very lucky (repeatably so year after year after year) or by avoiding the bulk and rush of orders, get service and product that's just as good.

I hope we all are satisfied with our purchases and the quality of the production, but I see no advantage or concern about how or when we order it. We will either all get them or all not.

It's not a tracking number, but the difference of numbers bewteen his two orders placed on two different days.

My coins are now backordered too. I thought they didn't charge you until they were ready to ship... Got my hopes up for nothing..

It was someones guesstimate. Totally unofficial speculation. Hope you didn't shoot yourself in the foot.

Everyone who want's one or two or three or.....will get em. This issue will probably turn out to be the highest of the high mintage's . I only ordered one, just to have " ONE" .

This is still only speculation. None of us can say yet how high the mintage could be. If 600k, which the Mint director, Ed Moy, indicated by saying they could produce 200k/month at an earlier point in the year-- and that is plenty high for such a mintage, it still would not be amongst the highest 5+ highest mintages known for Proof ASEs. 600k would be more mid-range amongst the overall annual mintages of the Proof ASEs.

Personally, I canceled mine because I dislike incompetence, misrepresentation, and general bullcrap more than i like pretty shiny things.

You tell me it's in stock. You sell it to me reporting it as in stock. You confirm my order, telling me the item is in stock. You charge my card, telling me it's in stock. Your status says the item is in stock AND RESERVED.

Then, 2 days later, WITHOUT NOTIFYING ME, you change the status to "Backordered" and list a shipping date YOU'VE already changed twice on the product's main page?

    Pfft.

I don't want your pretty shiny thing that badly, thanks. Go jump.

I am giving them this last chance to deliver on their poor service and if the quality isn't there for the pricey prices asked, I'm done with the Mint's offerings of collectible coins from here on out.

I can understand anyone having a disgruntled attitude toward the mint. It's a pretty shabby run operation and there is no justifiable excuse for poor quality . Mostly, I obtain my item's in the secondary market. Our Mint can certainly do much better , but they run their business just like any other and charge big dollars, for poor quality items. The only difference I see, is that they aren't coming from china ! than again, perhaps they are !!!

The only reason I ordered (just one) was not knowing what the secondary market will be asking for a TPG coin. If what I receive is not in the 69/70 grade range, then back it goes. If it is, then I will have it slabbed.

Thats part of the problem. Most buyers won't or don't want to bother with sending the items back. Trust me, I have no problem doing so. In that respect, I demand quality for my money.
