Nice to see the Mint shipping these out quick. Wondering how long my order for 10 will take. That order status says order request is on hold. Just happy to get my usual 2.

Honestly, I am quite nervous about this aspect. The Proof Gold Buffalos look like trash with the newer frosting technique applied. I really really hope these don't have it too. If they do and they are not selling big on the secondary market right off the bat, mine are going back and I'll be done with the Mint. I am that offended by the quality of Proofs since they started using this low quality technology to achieve the frosted effect on modern coins.

Can't comment on the Buff's as I don't collect 'em and I ain't seen 'em. Hoping' for the reflective fields and frosty devices....

I'm worried about the frosty fields being too grainy, diminishing the details and looking to striated (patterned in lines).

  20. Mintage is not as important to me as quality of course. However, I cannot see the Mint producing 1.5 million of these, especially as demand for the bullion ASE and the spot silver price has increased in the latter part of the year. 1.5 million would be close to 2 years worth of ASEs. From a collectors standpoint, I would have liked to have seen them produce 750K 2009 and 750K 2010 ASEs. From a business standpoint, there is an indication that products will be released early in 2011 and silver spot is still increasing which would decrease their profits but increase profit in the secondary markets (not something that would favor the mint). first day early order. mine was changed from in stock and reserve to backordered. can't believe it. the mint might just declare sellout by next week.
