Last week, while CRHunting nickels, I came across a very similar reverse error on 2 - 2010 P's. As you can see, the E in STATES has an error on the top of the letter. This error is the same, or very similar, on both coins found in the same box I was searching. I have looked around on popular error coin sites and lists but found no information regarding this type of find. I have attached 3 pictures of each coin. Front, back, and close up of the E in STATES. I would appreciate learning if this could be a possible new addition to the nickel error listings. Thank you for your time and help regarding these two coins.
It was struck with a chipped die. There's no telling how many nickels were struck after the die was chipped and before it was retired.
