the virgin islands territorial quarter. the name itself sound good. the design is beautiful. i plan to buy many. even if the mintage is high.
First time i got an american samoa and a puerto rico quarter from a cafeteria. i also got a dc quarter earlier. now i miss guam.
american samoa roll now stand at 31,728 set. this were way behind guam and puerto rico. might be a good buy.
except kennedy collector's item. 2009 american samoa (d) 39,600,000 is the lowest so far for all 2009 circulated coinage. followed by2009 jefferson (p) 39,840,000.
virgin islands mint roll - 18,058 set. so far virgin islands total mintage is the lowest of all quarters, (statehood and territotial).
That's the old VG stuff is out there and fun to collect somebody already played with it so why not handle it and look at, it the new stuff ain't as fun or as historical. No one will ever care who had a 2006 cent in their pocket but you give somebody a 1854 Large Cent in any condition and the imagination will run wild with curiosity over where it's been or who spent back in the day. If you don't have any luck at banks with finding rolls of new releases try a credit union if you're lucky enough to have one nearby; I do and they have plenty of the new pennies (got a $25 box recently), I need to check on the quarters, but almost 100% they would have them also.
