My understanding at this time is the first Lincoln cents for 2009 are GONE. The mint has sold out of the rolls they were selling. Information I have received states the 2009 P Lincoln cent "Birthplace" will be the lowest minted Lincoln cent since the 1955S cent. If your bank has not gotten them they WILL NOT now. The second coin in he series is now under production. I do believe the armored car services are getting much much more money for those cents from the private sector than they will ever get from delivering to banks. If you find a coin dealer with fair prices I would suggest you buy them now. (I finally found an out of state dealer). If you can't then you will have to deal with Ebayers. For the most part there are NO 2009 Lincoln cents floating around the banking system in Indiana and most Indiana dealers have not got them nor will they get them unless they are willing to pay huge secondary market premiums.

In my lifetime I never thought I would see the day I couldn't get new Lincoln cents nor did I figure I couldn't afford them if I did find them!
