The current portrait of Lincoln is almost a caricature of the original portrait done by Brenner. It is really a shame. Just put an early Lincoln beside a current one and you will see the difference. The same situation holds for the Washington quarter. Place a high grade 1932 next to a 1998, or for that matter any state quarter. The difference is striking.
Just as a FYI, that is a 2000 (only because that was the first I saw) with a "9" copied over the last "0".
